Non Degree Students
Non Degree Status through the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences is
approved in 100 AAC.
Non Degree students can obtain approval during or after the last day
of the drop/add period.
***Only 3000 level and above Liberal Arts College courses will
be considered for Non Degree status***
Please note that courses taken as a non degree student will
not count toward a degree in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
Non Degree status MAY BE APPROVED under the following conditions:
- If you are currently in good standing at another four-year institution
(letter or transient form required from home institution)
- If you are a UF employee
- If you need teacher recertification courses (letter required)
- Courses are NOT available at Santa Fe Community College
- Foreign language requirement (other than spanish)
Non Degree status is NOT APPROVED under the following conditions:
- If you have not attended a four year institution
- If you are currently enrolled in a community college
- If you have a denied, pending, or referred application at UF
- If you are not in good standing at UF
- If you were an admitted UF student and did not earn a degree
- If you were EVER given non degree status in a previous term in any
college at UF
- If you are planning on attending UF as an undergraduate
- If you do not have written approval to take courses from your home
institution
Required Documents
To be considered for non-degree status in the College of Liberal Arts
& Sciences, the following documents must be submitted along with a
completed non-degree
application.
- Transient Student
form (if parent school is a State University System institution)
- Statement of good standing (if parent institution is a private or
out of state university)
- **The University of Florida's immunization
policy must also be met before enrolling, please contact the Student
Health Care Center for more updated information.
