What you will do DURING Preview:
In your group and individual advising sessions, you will determine what your accelerated classes will count for, and based on that, figure out if you need to take any CLEP exams. In order to select the CLEP exams most likely to be useful to you, you and your Preview advisor will consider the following:
- The accelerated classes you are currently taking or have completed;
- The courses you intend to take in your first term(s) at UF; and
- The CLEP exams recommended for your intended major(s).
Your Preview advisor will help you complete the "Worksheet for Postsecondary Academic Advisement" if you need to take CLEP exams.
- You will identify the number of CLEP exams you need
(in some cases, this will be an estimate until you receive your AP/IB scores and/or dual enrollment grades). In general, you identify the fewest CLEP exams you appear to need. After AP/IB scores are posted, you can contact an advisor in the college that offers your major to verify the number of attempts met and the number still needed. If you take a CLEP exam for free and it turns out you don’t need it for your five attempts, you will have to reimburse the State for the exam.
- You will select the most appropriate CLEP exams to take
given your academic goals.
- You will not take any CLEP exams during Previe
w.
You will bring the Academic Advisement form with you when you come to take your CLEP exams after Preview. This will allow you to take the exams identified for free.
