Hours and Locations

The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS) Academic Advising Center (AAC) provides several advising services for CLAS students, undecided students, Pre-Health and Pre-Law students, and other students interested in CLAS majors.

Appointments

Individual advising sessions are available by appointment Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM.- 4:30 PM. To make an appointment with an academic advisor or a Pre-Law advisor, please sign-up in Room 100, AAC or call (352) 392-1521 ext. 100. Appointments for the next week will be available at the front desk as of 8 am on Thursday mornings. Please note that appointments may be limited during peak times such as drop/add and advanced registration. To make an appointment with a Pre-Health advisor, please call (352) 392-1521 ext. 204.

Walk-In Advising

To see a walk-in advisor, please sign in at the front desk in Room 100, AAC. Please note that at certain times of the year a large number of students may attempt to receive academic advisement at the same time.

Avoid “Rush Hour"

Ways to avoid a long wait as a walk-in in the AAC for Advance Registration

• Come in early in the morning.  Mean wait times are:
  • 30 minutes or less between 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.
  • 35 to 45 minutes between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
• Worst times to come?  Between 12:00 noon and 2:00 p.m.  We split the lunch shift between 12:00-1:00 and 1:00-2:00, but we still have to eat!

Please note that the office closes at 5:00 p.m.  We will ensure that all students who have “signed in” are seen before we leave for the day.  To be able to do this during very busy periods, we may close the sign-in list early.

The number of students seeking academic advising in the AAC dramatically increases as we approach advance registration.

Phone Advising

Phone advisors are available Monday through Friday 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM (Wednesdays 10:00 AM-12:00 PM). Please call (352) 392-1521 ext. 100 and ask to speak with a phone advisor. Phone calls are answered on a first call, first served basis. Please note that some requests may only be made in person.
