Liberal Arts & Science Students with <2.0 GPAThis site was designed to assist you in goal setting and to make sure you understand what you need to accomplish to get off of academic probation. If you are a current upper-division Liberal Arts and Science student with less than a 2.0 grade point average then pay close attention. (If you are not currently a student in the Liberal Arts & Sciences College, or at our institution, please feel free to utilize this web site to assist you with your academic challenges). As a Liberal Arts & Sciences student, your academic progress is monitored each semester you are enrolled at the university. If you have less than a 2.0 UF grade point average, you have received an email or letter in the mail asking you to go online and complete several exercises. These exercises will help you calculate what grades you will need to get off probation and help you understand why you may be experiencing problems. You are required to complete these exercises or your hold will not be removed. You will also be required to sign a Probation Contract with an advisor which will outline the conditions you must meet this semester. If you have a LS-PROBATION1 hold, in order to continue as a student in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, you must remove 1/2 of your deficit points this semester. If you successfully remove at least 1/2 of your deficit points this semester, you will have one more Fall or Spring term to remove the remainder of your deficit points (to achieve a 2.0 UF GPA). If you do not meet the terms of the Probation Guidelines, you will not be allowed futher registration in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. If you have an LS-PROBATION2 hold, in order to continue as a student in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, you must remove all of your deficit points this semester. Procedure to remove your LS-PROBATION1 holdOnce you have printed out and completed the following exercises come in to see an academic advisor at the Liberal Arts & Sciences Advising Center (100 AAC). The hold will not be lifted until the exercises are completed and you have signed a Probation Contract. Not receiving a letter or email due to invalid address in not a valid reason, it is your responsibility to keep your directory information accurate (Make sure you have an active Gator Link account and an updated address on ISIS ) . When you visit an advisor, please be prepared to discuss academic strategies, verify the accuracy of your exercises, and discuss any problems or concerns you may have regarding: Procedure to remove your LS-PROBATION2 holdYou do not need to complete the academic exercises above, however, you do need to come to the Academic Advising Center to meet with an advisor. You will be required to sign a probation contract. In some circumstances, your hold may not be removed until you have met the conditions of your contract. AAC Hours of OperationThe College of Liberal Arts and Sciences' Academic Advising Center (AAC) hours of operation are Monday through Friday 8:00 A.M. - 4:30 P.M. You can meet with an advisor on a walk-in basis or by appointment. To make an appointment please sign-up in Room 100, AAC, or call 392-1521 ext.100. Please remember no holds will be removed if you do not bring in the completed exercises, nor will holds be lifted over the telephone or via e-mail.
