Waseda University

Waseda University, founded in 1882, is a large private research university located in the Shinjuku neighborhood of central Tokyo. The university is comprised of 36 undergraduate and graduate schools. It often ranks among the most prestigious universities in Japan and is the alma mater of several high-profile Japanese politicians and business leaders.

UF students from all majors are welcome to apply. Exchange students select one of Waseda’s 13 undergraduate schools where they complete all their coursework. The only exception is Japanese language courses, which are available to all exchange students. The School of Culture, Media and Society (journalism and communications), School of International Liberal Studies (humanities), School of Political Science and Economics, and School of Social Science offer an especially large set of English-taught courses.

Because UF and Waseda’s academic calendars do not align, this program is only available for the Spring semester (April-July) or entire academic year (September-July).
