I have received a decision (ADMITTED)
You will be required to pursue the major to which you were admitted and graduate typically within 3 years.
6 fall/spring semesters if attending full-time (Summer may be used to complete requirements).
6 spring/summer semesters if attending full-time if you are admitted to the Innovation Academy Program (Fall online courses may be used to complete requirements).
- If you have decided not to pursue the major to which you are admitted, do not enroll. If the desired major is in CLAS, contact TransferAappeals@advising.ufl.edu. If not in CLAS, contact an advisor in the major/college to which you want to pursue admission and reapply for the next available semester by the deadline for that major.
- You must submit a final transcript verifying that you have met any conditions that were placed on your admission prior to enrollment.
- You will be participating in Transfer Preview (orientation and registration). You can register for Transfer Preview.
- After registering for Transfer Preview, you will be sent an email with additional information/instructions:
- Prior to Transfer Preview, you will be sent information about a CLAS specific Canvas Course, “CLAS Transfer Transition” that you will need to complete prior to your Transfer Preview date.
- You will be sent an email instructing to schedule a Pre-Orientation Transfer Advising Appointment prior to your Transfer Preview date.
- Transfer students do not typically need to take the ALEKS placement exam (for chemistry and calculus placement) since they have already taken chemistry and calculus at their previous college if required for their major.

I have received a decision (NOT ADMITTED)
Thank you for your interest in transferring to the University of Florida’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS). We sincerely appreciate your interest in the majors in CLAS. Unfortunately, we typically have more applications each year than we have space in the College, particularly for certain majors.
- Determine the reason you were denied. Begin by reviewing the minimum criteria needed to be competitive for admission to your preferred major. If you are simply missing courses, we recommend that you enroll in these classes at your current institution and reapply by the deadline for a future term.
- Prior grades that are impacted by serious extenuating circumstances. If you can document those circumstances, we recommend that you discuss the possibility of retroactive drops and/or withdrawals with the institution where these grades were earned. You can then send an updated transcript if your academic record changes and we can re-evaluate your application for admission for the term you applied or you can re-apply for a future term by the deadline.
- Considering alternative majors in CLAS. If you meet the minimum criteria for a different major you want to pursue, we recommend submitting a new application for a future term. Just be aware that if you are admitted to a different major than your original choice, you are expected to pursue the newly chosen major to graduation.
- You have new information for your current application. For example, grade changes, new courses in-progress), send an email to TransferAppeals@advising.ufl.edu and include:
- Your full name.
- UF ID number.
- Major.
- Term of Admission.
- Documents via attachment showing the new information.
General Transfer Appeals
