The UF Delta Chapter of Tau Sigma will begin accepting applications for the 2023-2024 Tau Sigma National Honor Society Scholarship. The deadline for submission is November 5, 2023, (Sunday) by 11:59 p.m. (ET). All application materials must be completed using the MS Word document and then saved and submitted as a PDF (see attached) via e-mail to Robert Kwong (rkwong@advising.ufl.edu). Any submissions received in the inbox past 11:59 pm (ET) will not be accepted. A committee will evaluate all entries and select two applicants that best represents the Delta Chapter to be nominated for the National Scholarship. The selected applicants will then be reviewed by the National Committee to award the scholarships to the Chapter members that best represents Tau Sigma. The scholarships will be announced by late December and awarded by February 2024.
Only applicants enrolled in a college or university for at least one academic term during the calendar year 2024 are considered. The applicant’s future enrollment does not have to be at their current institution and can be at either the undergraduate or graduate level.
Previous Tau Sigma scholarship winners are not eligible.
The National Scholarship Review Committee will evaluate the applicants based on their:
- Involvement in and service to the chapter.
- Involvement in and service to the university.
- Service to the community.
- Academic achievement.
While the National Scholarship Review Committee does not dictate the specific weight that each of the above criteria will carry, involvement in and service to the chapter and university will be weighed more heavily than the other criteria.
